This is a coffee cake I converted into a loaf pan recipe. It makes two loaves of this yummy bread. A great way to eat chocolate for breakfast!
Chocolate Streusel Loaf
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2-3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups sifted flour
Topping:
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 Tablespoons flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, cream the butter and sugars together. Add eggs, sour cream, baking powder, salt, soda and vanilla. Gradually add flour and mix until the flour is incorporated into the wet ingredients. Add milk to thin batter.
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2-3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups sifted flour
Topping:
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 Tablespoons flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, cream the butter and sugars together. Add eggs, sour cream, baking powder, salt, soda and vanilla. Gradually add flour and mix until the flour is incorporated into the wet ingredients. Add milk to thin batter.
Mix all topping ingredients. Grease two medium size loaf pans. Spread 1/4 of the batter into each pan. Layer the topping on top of the batter, reserving some for the top of the loaf. Spread the rest of the batter into each pan. Finish with remaining topping. Bake for 35 minutes, or until knife comes out clean.
I made this last night, since no one invited us over for dinner. Anyways the middle sunk, is that because I didn't cook it long enough? The edges were nice and brown. I think it is time for me to get a $4000 oven!
